About Flipped Tuition

The Flipped Tuition project, led by Doug King, came about as a way of helping to give parents some simple and practical solutions to the common problems that students face when studying at home.

The Flipped Tuition project aims to give parents the key information that they need to help have positive discussions about learning at home. The key information parents need is about the learning strategies that work. When students know and use these, it can become a game changer in terms of how they study and how they feel about up-coming exams, tests and assessments. The Flipped Tuition Project also looks at the methods of communication that work and the timing of the communication. We want parents to get the right information, in the right format, at the right time. The use of our integrated text system means we keep key information to a minimum and our short 5 minute pods can be listened to any time. The series of text messages helps to provide positive ‘nudges’ that we all need from time to time when we have so many other things going on.

How Flipped Tuition Works

We know that parents want to know how to support their children’s learning but information on how to do this can be hard to find. Each of our modules will provide a series of three personalised text messages and direct links to relevant and engaging resources. The resources will help parents understand more about about the science of learning and what really works along with information on time management, goal setting, exam preparation and options after school and college.
